Sometimes, it’s what is behind the scenes that makes a customer experience truly outstanding. That is the case with BOPIS order fulfillment. The order picking process is a part that customers may never see, but an efficient picking solution is key to any successful BOPIS system. Together with our partner, Strongpoint, OPI offers an exceptionally efficient, adeptly accurate and swiftly scalable order picking solution!

The OPI/Strongpoint picking solution is four times as efficient, with many associates averaging ~240 items per hour compared to industry standard of 60-65 items per hour.

Orders picked with the OPI/Strongpoint picking solution are accurate 99% of the time. Employees easily find correct items and replace out-of-stock items with desired substitutions.
Scalable

Last-mile Solutions
Pick-up Options to Suit Every Store
Last-mile solutions are the part of the system that will have the biggest impact on the customer experience. Most people who opt to shop online and pick up their purchases at the store are looking for a more convenient alternative to finding a parking spot, searching the store for the items they want and waiting in a checkout line. If your Last-mile solutions leave them searching for the pick-up location or waiting for assistance, then your BOPIS system may not seem like the convenient option it could be.
This is not to say that retailers should choose one Last-mile option over the others. A customer’s preferred last-mile option can vary by what products they’re purchasing, their schedule, the weather – there are many factors that can affect which is most convenient for them. The most successful click and collect systems are using a mix of pick-up options to retain the loyalty of their customers.
Inside Store
How it works
Upon arriving at the store to pick-up their order, customers enter the store and proceed to a Customer Service desk, Register or other designated area manned by a store employee who retrieves their order for them.

Customers may make additional purchases once inside the store.
Employee(s) manning pick-up can provide on-the-spot customer service, immediate returns/exchanges.

Curbside
How it works
Upon arriving at the store to pick-up their order, customers park in designated area. They check-in, either via an app or calling a phone number to let the store know they’ve arrived. Orders are brought directly to the customers vehicle by store employees.

Relatively simple to implement, requires blocking off an outdoor area and investing in clear, directional signage (OPI can help with that, too).
Customers consistently rate curbside pick-up as one of the most convenient BOPIS options.
Employee(s) delivering orders to vehicles can provide customer service.
Requires less contact for both customers and employees than in-store pick-up.
Requires storage space for orders awaiting pick-up, chilled/freezer for grocery.
Locker Solutions
How it works
In automated customer notifications, customers receive a one-time-use PIN. Upon arrival, they enter their PIN into the Locker Station kiosk terminal. The lockers that contain their order, which can be ambient, or chilled/frozen for grocery items, automatically open allowing the customer to take their purchases.
Features & Benefits
The quickest and most convenient option for both employees and customers – lockers are quick to load and most pickups take less than a minute!
Total self-service means little to no contact.
Employees are not interrupted from other tasks to retrieve orders.
Eliminates the need for storage areas for orders pending pick-up.
Extends store hours – outdoor stations can be accessed after the store is closed.
Fixed Stations can be indoor or outdoor and sized to space available.
Mobile lockers can be quickly set-up anywhere they’re needed.
