INCREASED USE DUE TO COVID
By April, half of consumers had used BOPIS as a result of COVID-19. BOPIS orders increased 195% in May. Orders have gone down since this peak, but four months later U.S. online grocery sales are still nearly five times what they were a year ago.

Over 90 percent of those who have tried it said curbside was convenient, according to NRF’s Spring 2020 Consumer View survey, and average online grocery order value increased to a record high of $95 in August.

In the Brick Meets Click/Mercatus Grocery Survey, 75% of respondents said they intended to use online grocery ordering again in the next 30 days.
